Former NFL Player Invites Current and Former Professional Athletes to support Fatherhood Programs That Help To End Fatherlessness

Rick Jennings II, former professional football player with The Oakland Raiders, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The San Francisco 49er has made a donation of $1000 and issues an invitation to current and former Professional Athletes to consider a donation of any amount, to support The Center for Fathers and Families' vision to End Fatherless. This vision will be accomplished by providing programs and services to strengthen families and build communities with a focus on teaching men the importance of being a father.

Funds from this campaign will be used to:

• Support Fatherhood Workshops, Conferences, Classes and Special Events

• Support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) programs, Hands-on Mentoring, and Educational Enrichment Activities for low income children enrolled in our Making After School Time Enriching Rewarding and Successful (MASTERS) program.

Organization Overview:

Since 1994, The Center for Fathers and Families has been responding to the needs of fathers and fatherless families. Rick has been the CEO since 1997. Our mission is to strengthen families and build communities in the Sacramento, California region by offering a network of programs and services that lead to family growth, enrichment, and empowerment.


We feel that our program design can be used as a template for similar programs around the country.

• Empowering families to thrive together

Adult Classes and Services:

1. Daddy’s Here

2. Practical Parenting

3. Taming Your Temper

4. Co-Parenting

5. Life Skills

6. Drug & Paternity Testing

Youth Service:

MASTERS (Making Afterschool Time Enriching, Rewarding & Successful). Since 2007, MASTERS serve 1,600 low-income children and families every school day by providing homework assistance, enrichment activities, recreation, health/wellness activities, Hands-on Mentoring and education support. We also provide a nutritious dinner to all our students. The Center for Fathers and Families serves over 5,000 adults and children annually. Over 80% of the families served are considered low income.
